Training Methods

Panda Chinese Language training programs are carefully planned to meet the learning needs of each client. Everyone has their own variety of reasons for wanting to learn a new language. We start by identifying these reasons and then we address them directly.

How do we
ensure that our courses are designed and managed effectively?

Detailed notes are taken to identify precise training needs.
Current language level is assessed and analyzed according to our creative and fun Panda Chinese needs analysis tests.
When the targets for the courses are agreed upon, a course is designed to meet your specific needs. A team of trained Mandarin-native speaking trainers execute the training program. A constant review of the relevance and effectiveness of the program is carried out using the full support of training consultants and trainers. The final report gives the individual and the company a detailed profile of the progress with suggestions for continuing language acquisition.

Setting targets 

Are you trying to become fluent, or do you just want to live life in Shanghai more conveniently? Do you care about learning Chinese characters? Planning the contents of a course and setting realistic targets for learning are a crucial part of our service. We establish the course structure by considering the existing language level of the individual and the reasons for needing to learn more. 

 

Initial Assessment 

The current language level of the individual is assessed in a comprehensive interview. As a starting point, we need to know just how much or how little of the language each person knows. 

Needs Analysis 

An interview is then held to establish exactly your needs.  Whether you are learning in order to gain employment, or make life in China easier, we will tailor our lessons to your needs. How will your skills in Mandarin be used and what standard of competence is required? The current level in Mandarin and the target level are compared. Language competence levels are graded from Level 0 to Level 7.

This is Your Course

A course is then designed using the Panda Chinese materials as a base. This enables the individual to progress in stages towards the agreed target level of competence. The course is then delivered by our team of excellent and fun trainers.

Course Report 

At the end of the course, a final report is prepared for each individual. The report records what has been achieved, and advises future language development methods. Individuals and organizations can therefore measure the effectiveness of their investment in Panda Chinese.

Trainers

We have a firm belief that our Mandarin teachers are of the highest quality in China. All of our teachers have either a Master's degree in teaching or over 3 years of teaching experience (about 1000 hours). We also guarantee our clients that our teachers are not only qualified, but also have excellent personal integrity, display a high degree of professionalism and are very fun to be around. As a result, our school has always received high praise from our customers. At anytime, the student or group may ask to switch teachers. This is always acceptable.

Quality

Trainers at Panda Chinese are closely monitored to ensure teaching quality. Before trainers begin working for Panda Chinese, they first must complete a rigorous training program that outlines Panda Chinese's teaching guidelines and expectations. After completion of the training course, our trainers go through 3 in-class inspections. In addition, at the end of each course students are asked to evaluate their trainer's performance, as well as their own personal progress in the course. If you feel you are having difficulties with a trainer during their course, we encourage you to approach one of the service staff to voice your concerns. If you feel that you would like to switch your trainer throughout your course work, we will gladly oblige.
